Rossana Gauto Moran

Graduated with honorable mention of Electromechanical Engineering with Electrical Intensification from the Faculty of Engineering of the National University of Asuncion, Paraguay. Currently student of specialization in “Electrical Energy Distribution Systems” by the Superior Institute of Electricity, Paraguay and student of “Maintenance Spare Parts Management” by Altmann & Associates, Uruguay. With professional experience in the electrical area with emphasis in high voltage electrical substations. Currently working as a Ship Maintenance Planner in a multinational shipping company, with two years of experience in the naval area.

Active member of the IEEE in the group “Women in Engineering” (IEEE WIE) and “Power and Energy Society” (IEEE PES) occupying in the year 2018 the position of Chair in IEEE WIE UNA, Paraguay which obtained the prize of “Exemplary Affinity Group of Region 9 – Latin America and the Caribbean”. In 2019 she was part of the IEEE PES UNA Paraguay executive committee as activities coordinator. Currently she is the Chair of the IEEE Young Professionals Paraguay Section, and also, she is part of the IEEE R9 SAC Team in the position of student affinity group representative. She recently received the honorable mention in the IEEE WIE AWARD 2020 “Inspiring Student Member of the Year” and joined the IEEE PES WiP Membership and Marketing committee.

She participated and organized several activities. Among the most important are being an ambassador of the IEEE PES Day 2018, 2019 and 2020 in Paraguay, the participation in the 3rd IEEE PES student congress held in 2018 and being part of the STAFF of the IEEE Women in Engineering International Leadership Summits (IEEE WIE ILS) held in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2019.

One of the things that most motivates you to continue volunteering within IEEE PES is to bring technology to generate opportunities within your community and country.
